At BeyondEye, it is important to us to keep our practice up-to-date with the latest technology. That is why we have the “California” from the Optos company. This allows us to take photographic images, fundus autofluorescence images, and fluorescein angiography images of the back of the eye. What makes it special is that even without administering pupil-dilating eye drops, wide-angle photography – that is, wide-angle images of the back of the eye all the way to the periphery – can be taken.
These examinations can be used especially well for the documentation of retinal degeneration, retinal detachments, choroidal birthmarks or diabetic retinopathy. For example, wide-angle fundus autofluorescence is excellent for examining inherited retinal diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa. We use wide-angle fluorescein angiography for advanced diabetic ocular fundus changes and retinal vascular occlusions. This also allows us to diagnose circulatory disorders affecting the outer portions of the retina particularly well.
Do you feel such an examination is necessary in your case? Then you are welcome to make an appointment in our practice here.
